Denture: A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available – complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Types of dentures: valplast, acrylic, acrylic +metal, hard/soft acrylic

Category of Dentures

Conventional denture: Placed in the mouth after the remaining teeth have been removed and gum tissue has cured. The healing process may take several weeks during which you will have to stay without your teeth.

Immediate denture: inserted on the same day, immediately after the natural teeth has been removed. The dentist may take a measurement to create a model of your jaw bone. Thought this type of denture provides the advantage of having teeth all the time, they must be healed several months after inserted.

Partial denture: A partial denture fills the space created due to missing teeth and prevent other teeth from shifting their current positions. This kind of denture rests on a metal framework that gets attached to natural teeth. These dentures offer a removable options to bridges.

Orthodontic Treatment & Invisalign

Fixed Ceramic Braces

Fixed ceramic braces are similar to regular metal braces. They are permanently fixed on the teeth by the dentist. They are realigned through the forces applied by the arch wire, creating a stress within the periodontium, thus securing the teeth in their new position. Patient is advisable to visit the dentist on a monthly basis for review.

Fixed Metal Braces

Fixed metal braces are permanently fixed onto the teeth. This type of braces are less aesthetic as compared to the ceramic braces. They are realigned through the forces applied by the arch wire, creating a stress within the periodontium, thus securing the teeth in their new position. Patient is advisable to visit the dentist on a monthly basis for review.

Invisalign

Invisalign is so discreet, most people won’t even notice you are wearing them. These aligners are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. They gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist plans out for you. There are no brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. Each aligner is individually manufactured with exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place. You just have to change in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until the completion of treatment.
